Episode 04: Trinitarian Heresies

I had a professor in seminary who would describe the background of Trinitarian controversies in the early church as a question about salvation. Building on a famous quote from church historian Jaroslav Pelikan, Dr. Fairbairn would say “Christ had to be who he was, to do what he did, to offer the kind of salvation he gives us.” This episode explores some early trinitarian heresies to further help us understand who God is, before getting into how the Trinity shapes Christian faith and life for the everyday believer.
